SLP Loudmouth?
SLP Loudmouth?
I have a '98 Z28, bone stock, and I am about to start doing some bolt-on mods. The first things I am looking to do are add the SLP FloPac and SLP Loudmouth exhaust. The loudmouth exhaust specs boast a possible 25hp gain. Also, I have heard that it truly is a "loud mouth". How loud is it, does it sound badass? And most important, what about that hp gain?
Re: SLP Loudmouth?
Im not too sure about that 25HP gain, seems a little exaggerated to me. Anyways check out www.ls1sounds.com you can get clips of many exhaust possibilities. Anyways check this out. Its a Loudmouth, badass? Deffinately. http://www.ls1sounds.com/SLPloudmout...r_stockWS6.wav
Re: SLP Loudmouth?
real world...15hp to the wheels if you're lucky...
it's LOUD...and drones on the highway. if you plan to do headers and remove the cats...maybe think again.
but for the price, material and performance...hard to beat!!
don't waste your money on the flowpac
get an SLP lid for like $75 and a SSRA (do a search)...you'll get more hp, better performance and still be cheaper than the flowpac

Re: SLP Loudmouth?
You might consider our TSP Rumbler cat-back. It is going to be an aggressive system that will have a much better sound, especially if you ever add headers and off-road y-pipe. For $274.99, you can get the car complete with clamps and stainless exhaust tips. The muffler used is an 18" Dynomax bullet, so it will help immensely with the rasp and resonance when you pull cats off.
Let me know if you have any questions. We have them in stock and ready to ship.

Re: SLP Loudmouth?
Another vote for the SLP Loudmouth, probably the highest flowing of any cat-back out there. If noise is a concern just replace the hollow "resonator" section of the LM with a Dynomax bullet straight through muffler.
This is commonly referred to as the "Dynomouth" I did this with mine, using the "18 bullet. Nearly as quiet as stock at idle/light load (I have stock manifolds/cats) but REALLY wakes up above 2500 RPM.

Re: SLP Loudmouth?
This is both a pleasant and an unpleasant surprise...I'm looking for a super loud and mean sounding exhaust. However, the SLP FloPac supposedly adds 23-25 hp alone...I am disapointed to find that both of these mods will only add 20hp.
Re: SLP Loudmouth?
I have the loudmouth and have no complaints at all. It does drone at about 2,000 RPM's but it doesnt bother me. Im about to add QTP headers to. LM has kind of a popping noise like the old muscle cars it's def. badass.
Re: SLP Loudmouth?
I would just get the rumbler catback, any lid and SSRA ram air. Max gains, better sound and your ready for future exhaust work as a bullet muffler sounds much better with headers then a resinator does.
Good Luck

Re: SLP Loudmouth?
Loudmouth Owner here...go with the Texax Rumbler. My roomate has that on his car, and it sounds sweet. Sounds a lot more "tuned" than the Loudmouth and its essentially just a loudmouth with a dynomax bullet muffler on it. Plus, I believe its cheaper.
