SLP lid rubbing hood?!?!?!

Does anyone else have this problem? I had the SLP MAF, bellows and lid, and my lid rubs. I put my stock bellows and MAF back on and my SLP lid still rubs. When I first installed the lid, it did not rub? Anyone know what will prevent my lid from rubbing the hood?

Uh, no. Sounds like your lid isn't seated properly.

I've got the same problem on mine!! It scratched away part of the top of my lid and I had to put a piece of velcro on top of it to keep it from rubbing (the non scratchy/hair-like side)

Mine touches on the upper left about 1 inch in from the corner. Not bad enough that it has hurt anything, but I do notice...

I think it might be the hose clamp not the lid. Someone pointed out to me that my hose clamp was rubbing on the inside of my hood. Just rotate the thing so the loose end doesn't touch the hood.

It's a conspiracy, SLP not only wants you to buy their lid, but are forcing you to buy thier hood as well!

Trim the bellows tube to releive the pressure on the back of the lid. It will seat better and not make it pop up a tad in the back.

travisnd You wont want to hear this but.... You have a SS and should have ordered the lid with your VIN # thro SLP Engineering in Troy. NOT SLP in NJ. Different lid different tolerances. Such is life <sigh>
