SLP Differential

I am really p'od because I royally spun out today in the bad weather today (and nearly crashed ), so I am going to get the differential. When I get the differential, for my 99 Firebird, what other parts do I need and about how much does it cost to get installed? thanks.

btw I am still very pissed about this!

Do you mean you are going to replace a single-track differential with a posi, or replace the entire rear axle assembly with the SLP 12 bolt?

FWIW, a posi will make the car worse in bad weather. A spin is almost never the cars fault, usually it is a driver mistake or worn tires.

If i understand correctly...

without a posi you'll gernally just spin the inside tire while apply little to no tq to the outside tire in a turn.. The inside tire is generally less loaded and easier to spin.

with a good posi, it'll transfer the tq to the outside tire when you start overcoming the inside tire.. this will help rotate your car out of a turn...

is this right?

All you will need is the posi, 2 quarts of fluid, gasket (or permatex) and someone that is good with gears to install it (all the really have to check is backlash).
