SLP CAI worth anything?

I was going to invest in a SLP CAI and wondering if it was worth anything? I heard that if you get any water what so ever in it, it would mess up the whole motor and interior engine. Is that true and do you get any more hp from it or is it take awat. Please let me know what ya'll smart people think. Thanks

I have it on my 2000 SS M6. You really feel it in 3rd gear.

You live in Lubbock so you dont really have to worry about the water that much, right? I am pretty sure you are only running a risk if you go through a DEEP puddle.

Anyways as far as under $200 mod it is by far the best for a power adder.

Lubbock huh? Hot girls everywhere from what I here...I guess I cant really complain though. (Socal )

I think it is good for arround .2 in the 1/4 but depends on what other mods you have.

got mine for $110 shipped.it doesnt go anywhere low enough to suck up any water and it also doesnt block your radiator causing your engine to run hotter.

youll notice this at WOT at highway speeds.its a worthwhile mod but you wont get any gains on a dyno.you have to be moving to benefit from it.

I have it on mine too.You can really feel the difference, especially with the SLP lid and K & N filter.Never had a water problem, even in the heaviest of storms. If you go in a "puddle" deep enough to suck in water you'll have a whole lot more important problems to worry about.Good luck with it and have fun.oh,it also got me an extra 3 mpg on the highway.Got 30 mpg at 70 mph driving from PA to Maine last year.
