Thumbs up SLP Air Lid with " Blemish "

Well maybe I am lucky but the one I orderd has no visible defects at all. It is well worth saving a couple of bucks to get one.

Yep, I got one as well. Best deal by far for a lid and I have no problems with the fit (I know some people have talked about problems with the fit). Yeah, that blimish is so minor I don't think I would have even said anythin if it was sold at normal price. I mean its soooooooo minor.

I saw that on SLP's website a few weeks ago, for $74.99. You can barely see the scratch mark.

I was thinking of buying one, but I'm not sure if my car will feel stronger with it in.

An Intake Lid is one of the best mods you can do to the LS1.

They all offer around the same performance gain, and some people say that you can really feel the difference. Either way you're going to pick up a few ponies.

I'd say get one.

I just installed mine on Monday and can definetely tell a noticeable SOTP difference.

I thought about buying the blemished one, too, but I ended up buying a used non-blemished one. 60 bucks shipped from a guy in Canada. Not bad.

It had been on the car for a couple of hundred miles. You could hardly even see the marks from the clips in the front.

It doesn't have the SLP stamping painted white (just black), though, but so what...

HP gains usually seem to be vary between 5-15hp.

I dynoed before and after a lid on my car.. I have a 2002 model so it may be different from yours (didnt look to see if you posted that)..
I didnt like the noise so mine is still bone stock.. I still have my MTI lid in the garage but I dont run the car with it.. I gained about 8rwhp.. repeatable and stable enough to predict what it will run on the dyno and at the track..

A lid definately opens up the air flow and the power difference and exhaust tone at full throttle are easily felt and heard. It doesn't really make the exhaust loud, just a better tone.

I recommend it.
