Re: slp air lid?
have it.... recommend it...
i would not bother with the cai kit...
it might give you 1-2hp over your hood... way not worth it imo
get it..
biggest difference for the littlest money

Re: slp air lid?
air lid and the SS hood are a good combo, don't bother with the SLP cai...
if you want a more functional ramair setup though, look into the SSRA.
due to the routing of the air going through the SS hood it is more of a cai than a ramair.
look at it this way
if you took a stock z28 and put a lid and functional SS hood you would probably gain 10-12hp
if you installed the same lid and the SSRA on the Z28 you'd probably get at least 15-18hp
hard to say whether that 3-6hp gain with the SSRA over the SS hood is worth it to you.

Re: slp air lid?
buy a lid. any lid is better than stock but the slp's fitment is really good. some people have just smoothed out the ribs in there stock one. i went with the fast toys ram air and noticed a lot at higher speeds.

"Does anyone know a good OEM place for these things"
an OEM place to buy an aftermarket item? um ok...
not to mention...$80 for 10hp is pretty freaking nice. considering i paid $600 for 20hp with longtubes.

What about a functional SS hood WITH SSRA?

Re: slp air lid?
I said OEM because here http://www.xse.com/leres/ss/airlid.html
They clearly say their SLP lid was OEM. Is this just assumed?

Re: slp air lid?
You could get it as in extra option installed by SLP when they did the SS conversion along with the Auburn rear; dual dual exhaust; mats and fobs; etc. . So it would technically be OEM.
