slp 1.85:1 rocker arms

I'm thinking of purchasing these and installing them on my z but i am wondering if it will affect the smoothness of acceleration and idle quality. Oh and does anyone know of a link that shows how to install them.

Before you get those, you should check into the new setup CompCams just came out with. I think they're built better than SLPs. They are a full roller rocker in 1.75~1.85 and they fit under the stock valve covers without any modification (unlike other aftermarket roller rockers). I don't know if there's much info on the web yet since they're so new, but you should give their tech department a call and see what you can find out.

I'am very happy with the SLP 1.85 rocker package on my 2000 SS. Took me 6 hours to do it right in the garage

I gained 0.9 ET and 1.1 mph in the 1/4 mile.

I imagine your 0.9 ET was a typo, and you meant 0.09 seconds (nearly one tenth), because otherwise your near 1 second gain in ET would not jive with only a 1.1mph gain in trap speed.

So you spent $600 for 0.09 seconds ET drop and 1.1mph? And you are happy with that?

Ok.

For people who are against cam swaps, that may be acceptable but you could have put in an LS6 cam and LS6 springs for less money (but more labor time on the install) and seen more power gains.
