Slack on LS1 timing chain????????

Slack on LS1 timing chain????????

after installing the came and putting the cam gear back on there seems to be some slack on the chain. Is this normal or does it need to be tite?

If you reused the stock chain, the slack is common. The stock chain has quite a bit of slack actually.

If you would feel more comfortable, run over to Katech Engines in Clinton Township. They sell C5R chains.
