Skip shift is ***

Can anyone help me understand what skip shift is and does. What is the purpose for it? THX

Also, I want to know how some of you guys have x pipes...where do you find them. I've only been able to find a y pipe...which is better?

The sole purpose of the skip shift is fuel economy. By making the car go from 1st to 4th, the engine RPMS stay very low and better mileage is achieved, at the cost of acceleration of course. I just purchased a skip shift eliminator from Speed Inc and I will install it this weekend. Only costed about $20.

While your under the car, installing the skipshift, You'll notice our exhaust goes uses a Y pipe because its just one signle intermediate pipe to the back.. that splits off again to duals.. In other words, our cars exhaust are not true duals..

There are some people that have gotten custom true dual exhausts. Since the pipes are so close together, I've only seen H pipes done on those.

It was used back in the day for CAFE (corporate average fuel economy),don't waste your money on an eliminator go to radio shack and get a resistor you'll have to get a five pack probably for less than a dollar I think it's an 2.2 ohm 1/2 watt if I remember right plug it in tape it up and your done.
