Six speed ???

I just bought a 2000 Z28 with the 6 speed. I have heard a faint chatter or syncro gear like noise in 2nd gear when slowing with the clutch engaged. The car was GM Certified and the Service guy said this was common. Is that true or B.S? I was thinking of covering it while I have a warranty. It is only 2nd gear usually when the car is cold and temps are low outside.

Well if you're only gonna do 1 mod, i'd have to say get a supercharger, cause that'll add the most power out of just one mod. Pretty sure it's like 140 horses on a stock motor out of the Procharger with twin intercoolers.

if you are gonna spend the money on the supercharger you might as well do all the lesser mods for less money but I think I know what you are asking for.

I'd suggest you do the basic two mods that people do here for LS1's which is the air lid and a catback they don't cost too much and they target one of the restictions of the LS1 the airflow. They are pretty easy to do too.

Hmm you talking about speed or handling?
If I could only do one mod it would be some good *** tires.

I had a 1979 T/A with a 6.6 The best mod I ever did was a set of Nitto extreme drags. I was getting 2.0 60's on most every run.
What kind of 60's should I expect with the Goodyears?
What kind of 1/4 time?

Drags are good it you hitting the strip. But if you hitting the street and doing rolling starts there are many different mods you can do. Just look around and see what others are doing and the risk they take doing it. Some mods do good and some do damage.
