Re: Should I get a tune?

A tune will definitely help. I was running horribly rich after my long tube install, and it made a huge difference.

I have an intake to, but it's not installed yet. Obviously I'll install that first before the tune. I wish I had the money for a cam, but it's a little tight right now.

Well I would have to get the cam, then the extra $ for the tune after I install the cam. Looks like I'll have to pull out the old credit card.

You can get a dyno tune for $350. A cam costs at least that + springs + retainers + pushrods + installation. Most places will do a tune and then give you "upgrades" at a lower price when you further mod your car. Especially if its a shop and you use them for the cam install.

00Z28,
Aftermarket MAF's are usually power robbers. The good tuners around here will tell you to put your stocker back on before they touch the car. Just an FYI.

Tune's are typically more spensive than a cam...My tune was $400 including a 20% discount. I see cams for around $330....
