Shifter question.

I have a question,it's not for me,i drive a 2000 mustang gt,it's for my friend who drives a 2000 z28.Every time he drives my car he can't stop talkin about my steeda tri ax short throw shifter, but unfortunately steeda doesn't make any shifters for the z28(at least not that i know off).
I read around this board and found out that most people prefer eather the pro 5.0 or the B&M shifter for their camaros. My question is which one is good for my friend.
He's looking for very short throws, and the shifter should be as hard as a stone,it should also be hight adjustable.I know it's been asked before but he want a specific answer for his taste.

Thank you.

If he has the factory Hurst, tell him to get the Lou's Short Stick. It is a shorter stick and removes the rubber from the old hurst. It is def rock hard but not height adj. If he has the reg shifter go with the B&M.

How do we find out if it's a hurst? And also will it shorten the throw? His stock shifter goes pretty far forward, almost twice as much as mine,we'd like to shorten that quite alot.

WHat dod you mean? The pro 5 is lound, but it's also not loud?Or did you mean the B&M ripper? When you try to slightly move the shifter, does it move at all,or it is firm?Eather one of them i mean?Because he wan't a really firm shifter, also isn't every shifter loud? That's one of the things they say in the instructions, because you remove one of the rubber boots.

Round shift **** is the stock shifter, if its a leather wrapped **** with an H on it, its the Hurst.

Ok,he's got the normal one,he wants to know one thing though. Is the B&M shorter then the stock? And is it firsm?Also,stick6shift98,you said in 3rd it's really close to the stereo,i've seen a few pro 5.0 shifters for my mustang, and they're hight adjustable. Can't you just move the shifter down,to prevent it from getting too close to the stereo?

Opinions on which shifter is just like opinions on anything else. Subjective

We have a Pro 5.0 shortened 1 inch in the 98 SS and love it. Yes it transmits a little tranny noise. That's because it's solid and beefy. And it works great. My opinion

I have the pro 5.0 + LSS and I LOVE it! I have also had the factory hurst w/ LSS and the pro 5.0 is an improvement.

the b&m is not hieght adjustable unless you cut the handle and rethread it. i have the b&m and compared to stock its way shorter throws.
