SES light with MAF/lid??

I installed a new lid/filter for my car a week ago, and I just got around to installing ported MAF ends..... last tuesday.. it is now thursday and just before I pulled my car into my house (that's when i noticed it) my SES light came on.......... I read the manual, and I checked the gas cap, no problem there... anyone have an idea if the lid or the ported maf could have effected this?? i think i am taking it in tomorrow to the shop.. pls help.

Check your connections to the MAF. Did you connect it back the correct way? Also see if there are any crimps in the wiring. You shouldn't throw a code because of the lid. If you have an A.tap you can see exactly what code it is.

ATap = AutoTap ... it's a software and hardware package that you install on a laptop to access your car's computer. VERY helpful. (about $300 + your computer)

Personally, I would double check everything. Did you connect the air temp sensor to the lid? I missed that once ... threw the code.

Did you connect the wiring for the MAF?

Is the MAF turned the right direction?

Before you go to the dealer, go to AutoZone and have them scan the code. I'd hate to see you get charged by the dealer because your mod threw a code. AutoZone will scan the code for free.

Definitely reconnect everything again. Often times a small leak between the MAf and the bellows after the install will cause a SES. Check the sensor plugs too for any dirt r damage to the pins.

OK I went to the dealer this morning, and they said that it threw 2 codes. I was a ABS code (some connector was not seated properly, so they replaced it) and the other was a "low power" code... what this means I have no idea.... they said it was probably nothing..... I took the car out of the dealership parking lot and it SES light triped again... I went back up, and the trech said it was "possibly" because I was near empty on gas and to go fill the tank.. I filled up with gas, went back to the dealership, and the tech attempted to hook up the computer to ,my car to see what the code was this time, and it was another low-power code... the thing is the computer was having trouble staying connected to my car..... it kept loosing connection, which he said was abnormal...... he reset the switch, and said that there is probably something wrong with one of the computers, and said that the light wouldprobably comeon again, so we jsut set upi an apointment to ahve my car looked at "in-depth" next week.... The thing is the light has not came back on since i got the gas and he reset it the second time.. should I still bring my car into the shop.......??? since the light is off just ignore it???? or what?? and what does that low power warning mean??? and why was the computer disconnecting with my car????? any idea??/ thanks.
