Scheduled injector cleaning?

Hey guys quick question. ive got an '02 Z28 and its got just a hair under 31,000 miles on the clock. i need to get my oil changed (im out at school and dont have access to ramps or jacks so i cant do it myself) so i made an appt. at a dealer. the lady on the phone told me its time to get my injectors cleaned as a part of regular maintnence, but its not in the book that came with the car. is she correct?

thanks,
-EriC

At the dealer I used to work for, we pushed that service every 30K. In my honest opinion, I think that is unnecessary. I think if you stick with the good gas and change your fuel filter every now and you should be fine.

You can definitely hold off having the injectors cleaned for a while....just a ploy for the dealer to squeeze that much more $$$ from you!

Re: Scheduled injector cleaning?

i would get the BG fuel system cleaner. you only have to put a can of that in your tank once a year and it works great. it cleans your entire fuel system along with the injectors of course. all you have to do is put one can in your gas tank then fill it up completely immediatley after putting the can in. i would say thats the only thing you really gotta do to clean your injectors.
