I know a lot of C5 guys have done this and they report catching a good amount of oil in their filters, which would have gone through the intake otherwise. If this is a repost, just disregard it, but maybe this will help on the LS1 Fbodies too.

Cool! Good idea and better yet I have one of these filters on the workbench of the garage. (knew I wanted it for something).
