Safe Rev Limit ?

What would be a safe rev limit to set on an LS1 with stock valvetrain?

Re: Safe Rev Limit ?

I'd go up to 6500 maybe, but with a standard I'd be careful you don't really over do it, 'cause you will risk bending pushrods (seems to be the most common problem ). Upgrade your valvetrain and rev the sucker over 7000 rpm if you wanted to though!!

i've heard the stock valvetrain will live at 6500 but honestly i wouldn't push the limit past 6300 (stock rev limit is 6250 i believe.) i remember a couple of magazines awhile back testing GM LS1 crate engines and getting valve float right around 6K....seems a little weird, but that's what they found.
