can some one descrive what noise the engine would make when you have either a rocker or lefter noise?? and will it only make noise or will there be other signs such as SES, car running bad, ect...

my car makes a noise every now and then not at idle but only when you give it it gas at around 1,500 rpms. Ive taken it to 2 diff. shops and they have both said that its normal. WHat bugs me is that ive just noticed this about a month ago. IM pretty sure it wasnt there before.

car has 55k on it, 01.

 

Are you sure you're not just hearing piston slap?

 

im sure, my piston slap is there untill it warms up to operating temp but goes away.

ive also heard something about the sewing machine noise, which is similar to what im hearing.

 

yea, my car clatters like a sewing machine too. I really need to pull the covers and check the rockers/pushrods just in case I guess...

 

mine does the same thing. But it also pulls as hard as always so idk. Here in the next couple weeks my heads are gonna be off so I'll be able to check everything out.

 

butterbar and ghost z28 , does ya'lls car do it all the time?? mine doesnt do it all the, ive noticed. and like mentioned obove i took it to 2 different shops and they claim the noise to be valve train noise (normal).

 

I'm sure it is valvetrain noise... which could be anything related to the valvetrain good or bad... Now I dont notice mine all the time, but the noise under mid acceleration at low rpms in a higher gear? i rear that often.
