Rocker Arms
Rocker Arms
I went to another mechanic and he told me that my 2000 Camaro SS has bad rocker arms. He said he researched a little bit and found that the LS1 is known for having bad rocker arms. IF anyone knows anything about this please post.. Thanks again guys
Re: Rocker Arms
The only thing I have ever seen about the rocker arms being "bad" per say was when they actually failed. What was happening is the needle bearing section of the rocker was coming apart and little needle bearings were in the oil pan and everywhere else in the engine.
What was the only thing I had ever heard negative about the factory rocker arms. I use them all the time without reservation, and have used them in plenty of high hp applications. Knock on wood I have never had a problem with them.
What got you to see the mechanic in the first place. What was the symptom the car was having?

Re: Rocker Arms
The car was making an odd clicking sound that accelerated with the rpm's. So i took it to the chevy dealership to get an opinion and they said it was a "personality characteristic" of this car to make a clicking sound and it will always be like that............ I have never heard of anything like that so i went for a second opinion and this is what this guy has come up with. I must admit it does sound a little more reasonable.
Thanks

Thanks
