reving normal or not

Ever since I bought my 2001 camaro ss brand new I noticed it reved alot different than any other car I have owned. When I rev it up, the rpm's tend to stay high for a while and slowly drop off. My 2006 dodge ram with a Hemi does the same exact thing. The thing in common is no dist. they have coil packs. All of my other cars when you rev them up, they drop off right away. Now when I put the gas pedal to the floor while driving and then let off, the rpm's still stay high and drop off slowly, just like my truck.

Normal or not normal

2 of my cars have coil packs and one has a distributor and none of them act that way.

It's done this for 10 years, and you're just now asking if it's normal!?

Anyway... When you say that you rev it up, are you doing this in gear while driving? Or while stopped in park, neutral, etc?

And the ignition system design has nothing to do with this.

Some things you just learn to live with when the dealer refuses to look at it under waranty. Yes, I was talking about while in park and reving it up. When I let off the gas it stays where it's at for about 1 second to 1.5 seconds and drops off slow.
