Removing Oil Filler Neck

I'm having trouble removing the oil filler neck. Any suggestions on how to do this without breaking it? Thanks.

Are you just trying to remove the cap or the whole thing? If it's the cap then just turn it to the left and lift up

Not the cap, the neck.

Good luck, i couldn't even get it out with the valve covers removed. It looks like it can be pried out but i almost broke mine and just left it alone.

They only way to remove it is with the valve cover off. You will see a small plastic tab on the inside preventing it from coming out. Depress the tab and remove the neck from the valve cover.

Which means that you now have a piece of plastic (broken tab) floating around the top end of your engine. You may want to pull that valve cover and pray it's still on the top of the cylinder head, and not somewhere else

I do?...........then how come the filler piece came out intact, no broken pieces off whatsoever?

Trust me it broke off. I bet the filler neck is now much easier to remove than the last time too

All that breaks off is that little plastic tab. If you didn't know about it, you wouldn't know that it was missing. Remove the filler neck again and inspect both the neck and the valve cover. You'll see where the tab should go.

Hard to tell in the photo but I fully inspected the oil filler neck and there is no broken tab..........there is a "thread" on the neck where it mated with a "thread" on the valve cover.........where the Metco oil filler neck and breather I put in to replace the factory one I took off
