I've been leaking differential fluid for a while, and now I have a grinding sound from the rear end. I may have to get new gears or a rebuild! I want to switch to 3.42's while he's in there. I know Motive gears are good, but what others are good? I need to know today, so he can order them tomorrow if needed. Please help.

Since i have 2.73's with a 2-carrier, what will i need to convert it? Will i have to change to a 3-carrier. What stuff do i need?

 

Motive is good. I wouldn't recommend any other brand. If you're getting 3.42 might as well go all out and get 3.73.

ok, so Motive is the way to go. I can't get 3.73's, my dad won't let me. So I'll go with the next best thing 3.42's. At least i'll still have a little top end left.\

Like you said you have a 2 carrier. The 3.42s will be a three carrier. I'm pretty sure it's not too hard of an upgrade. Motive sells the kit to change for $50 or so I beleive?
