Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right forum, but it has to do with exhaust, so we'll see....

I put on a Borla cat-back a couple months ago. I thought I had it on all good, but the top of the bend (going over the axle) is touching the metal heat shield type thing under the gas tank.

Does anyone know if it's bad to cut away some of that shield so that it's not touching the exhaust? Or better yet, does anyone know how to loosed the exhaust sections so I can move it? They're stuck to gether really good even with the clamps off. The heat sealed them pretty well.
