R&R of the TPS

recently i've thrown codes for a malfunction in the TPS.

only happens on extended road trips...2+ hours with the cruise control on. NEVER comes on other than that.

car is modded, i know something in the tune can cause this, but i've done the same road trip 5-10 times since the cam install and dyno tune....nothing else has changed in 3yrs.

except the last road trip triggered teh SES. went out after several cycles. then came back after 2hrs of cruise control driving on the way home. that was in December and it hasnt come back.

and i never cleared it.

wondering if the TPS is actually going bad.

wondering what is involved in the swap? adjusting it? and how much and maybe a PN would be nice.

thanks guys.

P0121? TPS sensors often get a bad spot in them in the most used part of the sensor sweep - usually found around 15-20% throttle as that's where most cruise at.

makes sense...

now how is the R&R of the sensor? is it bolt on and go? maybe some kind of reset procedure?

Disconnect the sensor. Remove 2 T20 Torx bolts. Replace sensor. Install bolts and reconnect.

No adjustment should be necessary.

Once you finish, you'll be embarassed that you asked - it's that easy

well that's why i asked....

so if it was some difficult thing...or some specific procedure...i didn't *** it up and everyone be "duh...you have to XXXX before it will run. why didn't you ask first before messing with your car?"

thanks brother
