Quick Question about LS1 Motorsports Lid.

I ordered my LS1 Motorsports Lid and it should be here in a couple of days.

I read in another thread that the lettering comes in diffrent colors. What are the colors? And if it does, why wouldnt they allow me to choose the color I want?

So has anyone ordered this Lid lately?

Thanks!

Question

How about asking LS1 Motorsports directly?

Thanks.

I called today to ask if they had sent it out yet, I didnt know if I should request a color or not. I mean it's not a big deal, but if it's available in different colors, dont you think they should let you know that you should request one. But I'm thinking if I dont get what I want, I can return it(I hope/think) and pick up a SLP one for the same price at LS1 Speed.

If you don't like the color you get you can always call them and they will send a new one in the color you like; free of charge. (At least they did for me)

I was thinking the same thing.

I could also just take off the Sticker.

ZIPPERR: What color did you get originally?

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm hoping it comes in Red. But like I said, if it doesnt, I guess I'll just take off the Sticker.

Mine came in red. I used a thin razor to peel back the stickers and removed the motorsports decal. So now all you see is the red LS1 on it.

If you're looking at other lids already, then why aren't you considering a TSP? (http://www.texas-speed.com)

I didnt know the TSP was anything special. Also, the LS1 Motorsports Lid and SLP Lid is only $95. Not much more I know, but still cheaper for just about the same performance.

I'm getting pretty ticked about LS1 Motorsports. I dont know if it's because they're changing their name, because they get so many orders and emails, or if they ship on certain days. But it's taking very long to get it. I ordered from LS1 Speed and got my item within 4 days. This Lid has taken almost 2 weeks already!

Thanks for the Input.

Well, I finally got my Intake Lid.

It came with Silver lettering and it doesnt say LS1 Motorsports anymore, it says "www.QuaterMilePerformance.com." Pretty lame in my opinion. Half the "e's" on the Sticker dont even have the holes cut out.

But, the Sticker seems extremly easy to take off, I started peeling alittle bit with my nail. So I figure I'll just take it off, no need in returning it.

Also, to anyone who has the Lid, is it two pieces? There's the "big" part with the Lettering and then right before where it connects to the MAF on the bottom it looks like a thin strip is hot glued on. Just wondering.

Thanks again.

Mine is one solid smooth piece. Where it attaches to the maf there are cuts to allow the clamp to tighten down on the MAF, but no hot glued pieces on mine. I am very happy with my LS1 motorsports lid. Order to my door in less than a week, got it in a GP (I think) a while back. Even a little SOTP and noise difference!

Awesome.

It's not a thin strip like I said, I think it's what you mentioned. Almost the whole Lid is one piece, and then by the MAF it looks to be seperate, which I guess is so it attaches to the MAF, like you said.

I installed the Lid, easy install took about 15 Minutes maybe even less. I took off the Silver Lettering as well, I think it looks very nice under the Hood, all Black looks Stock.

It is 2 pieces. I called up LS1 Motorsports(Quarter Mile Performance) to make sure and they informed me that it is 2 pieces.

As far as performance there's not a huge difference. The problem is I didnt drive the car before I installed it, or take it to the Track, but I'm sure a couple Ponies were gained.

Thanks again for all the help.
