For what AutoZone charges for replacements, I would not turn them.

Doesnt autozone charge $39 per rotor? Or was it $49 per rotor?

Anyways its only 16 bucks to turn 2 rotors.

Is it abesolutely necessary to have new rotors or have them turned with new brake pads?

I'm not sure on specs but I can tell you this,

I have had to turn my rotors 2 times in the front and once in the rear for the cost to do it next time it happens i'm just going to replace them a performance set you may want to look at the same. RKSport has some nice front ones for about $300

Don't waste your time and money turning stock rotors. They aren't worth it.

Pick up some new rotors of your choice.

Wait.. so whats wrong with turning them? Will they warp or something?
can someone go into more detail why they arent worth turning?

I can buy some barely used ls1 rotors for 40 bucks and have them turned for 16 bucks so thats 56 dollars total. Now if i buy new ones im looking at about 100 dollars.. So what am i missing here?

How come it seems that a lot of people are warping their rotors ?? Could it be that they are braking too hard ?? I understand that you have to have rotors resurfaced especially when you replace brake pads/shoes (depending on year of car as well) but the main cause to have rotors warped is the fact that braking hard all the time is the cause.. Am I right or wrong on this subject ??

So far I am lucky that I have not warped my rotors on my z28 but then again not everyone has ever driven a car or truck w/ the worst possible brake system ever known to man, aka Drum Brakes.. plus especially try stopping something that is going 95 + mph, weighs around 4000 lbs, master cylinder just went out, rear axle seals are leaking, and you have 4 wheel Drum Brakes, with this combo and not even hitting anything to stop. Plus drive it home 6 miles on top of that just to park it.. I have done this and yes it was a scary event especially when you have 350 + HP under the hood and no brakes plus I did get it back home safely with no accidents.... I guess what I am getting too is try not to Brake as hard and you should not have to buy or turn your rotors in between brake jobs...
