Quick exhaust question (muffler)

I have a crappy flowmaster on my Z along with LTs. It sounds like crap. Can I just rip out the flowmaster muffler and throw in a Magnaflow or a Hooker? I figured you can, but I want to get confirmation before I go buying a new muffler. Thanks.

you can also get a 26 dollar cutout and put it right before the rear axle and skip the muffler if you so desire.

I also want to do that, but I need a new muffler. This flowmaster one sounds like booty with these LTs. And a new muffler is cheaper than an electric cut-out, which is what I want. Screw that wing nut crap.

I have LTs and I think it would be a little too long when I drive 7 hours home to Chicago. But, I still do want an electric one.

what series flowmaster did you have? I want to get a muffler that is pretty quiet and was thinking of Flowmaster cause I had heard they were restrictive and sounded pretty good. I have LTs as well and they are just too loud at times and I want to put a quiet muffler on with a cutout. Anybody have any suggestions?

Try a Hooker or Magnaflow. Flowmaster (80 series in my case) sounds terrible with LTs. Its really raspy and at high rpms its all drone. My friend, who I was racing at the time, actually laughed at the way my car sounded as I beat him in a race. How do YOU beat someone ELSE by a good 10 car lengths and get laughed at? So my suggestion for you is to go HERE and find the setup you like. I prefer the Magnaflow, then the Hooker.

Also, the car sounds good as long as I am not above 2500 rpm's.
