Quick!! Exhaust Question
Quick!! Exhaust Question
Cutting the muffler off my 98 z... good idea or bad.... i want something loud quick... headers are going on soon... and if it doesnt hurt it... how big of a dip in gas mileage will i see?
Re: Quick!! Exhaust Question
if the cats are still on it...go for it. it will be loud...a bit raspy at wot but should sound good around town.
and honestly...you may just see an increase in gas mileage. i know i got a consistent 2mpg more when i put a good catback on my car.

If the car is stock with the cats still on cutting the muffler off will be no different than getting an SLP Loudmouth. No resonator but it won't be much different.Have you thought of doing the Dynomouth? It's a pretty cheap way to get louder.

Lets get to the core of the problem here.
A. Why/What do you think it would hurt.
B. Why do you think less exhaust restriction will adversly effect your fuel consumption?
