Questions...Since BMR CS is HORRIBLE!
Well since BMR feels the need to NOT return phone calls or emails I am turning here. I have a 2000 T/A with SLP LT, Y-pipe, and Loudmouth. I have been looking for a way to strenghten the tunnel cross member and was figuring that a drive shaft safety loop was a nice way to accomplish that and add some safety. After I added the long tubes I am getting a very bad vibration off the tunnel brace. With my car being slammed with the SLP John Ames springs it appears the BMR will be the least obtrusive to obstacles on the roads. How low does this loop hang? Will this do what I am planning? If anyone has used this loop please help me out here.
Thanks,
Matt

Matt

Matt,
Just got off the phone with BMR. They are busy moving into a larger facility that is why they are running behind on your reply. They will answer you. I have done business with them and they have always been very responsive. I live near them, so they have gone as far as bringing parts out to my car in several different colors to get the best look.
On another note, you probably did not get any other responses because the first post by most people on this board is not a flame on a company that many of us have dealt with for quite awhile. Anyway here is a link to the part you are asking about, it looks like it will not hang much lower than the stock tunnel brace.

Almost everyone around here running long tubes has the vibration that you are talking about. It is another one of those trade offs that you make when you try to put race parts on a street car. Problem is, anything less than LTs won't help.
good Luck with your project,
PJ

Your running SLP LT's and your car is slammed??? I guess you dont have speed bumps or pot holes, or small rocks where you live. Remember you drive a f-body NOT a mercedes or a caddy. there is bound to be some vibration.
The loop hangs pretty low. I have one installed on my car and I'm going to pull it off pretty soon and probably run without any type of brace down there.
If you have problems down there already just remove the brace and put the stocker back on. If you seriously want a loop either get one welded to your torque arm or get an aftermarket Spohn torque arm.

For starters thank you all for the responses. Today I got an email and a phone call from BMR! I changed the topic since they were very informative when they got back to me. The email actually included all the information I needed and then the phone call reaffirmed everything and answered some questions I forgot to ask in the email.
When I said slammed I ment it... 2" front 3" rear
It is extremely low and I love the look. At times I wish it was higher but what can you do. When I had the upgraded SLP Y-pipe on I had 2" of ground clearance off of it an very rarely ever scraped. With the long tubes on I have scraped them a few times but I have 44k on the car with the original decarbons on the front. I ruined the valves and am ordering the Koni SA shocks and think that will give me approx 1/4-1/2" more room plus being stiffer! The Y-pipe had 1/4" clearance and was a horrible fit. I was impressed with everything from SLP before these headers and this kinda made me feel that I was ripped off at $950 w/o cats
I took it to the only shop in the area who will weld stainless and they fabricated it to give me 3/4" clearance.
The pipe doesn't rest on the brace and has 3/8" at rest. I figure that with the dip in the loop I will lose the rattle. The factory brace is approx 1" thick(including the ripples) so the 3/4" that will hang down will not be a problem.
Aklaim,
last Sat night I was pulled over for going to slow
and was pushing something on teh side of the road. After the cop checked out my car I had to ask him to back up so I could back up and get out. It is extremely low! Oh and my daily driver is a 94 Eldorado that turned 80k today.
Thanks alot guys and I am off to order the loop.
Thanks,
Matt
