Question about some 6 speed cars

What makes some 6 speed cars have that sudden drop in rpm and awesome sound when they shift. Is it longtubes and an ORY or a cam that does it? I know that link is an LT1 but I have heard LS1's sound the same way.

Well that's one hell of a cammed car, longtubes with an ORY would make it louder. What you're talking about is a very slow shift.

Re: Question about some 6 speed cars

The sound is based on the exhaust. Going with the exhaust of your choice (headers and catback or true duals) will get you half of your answer. The other half will require installing a cam to get it to sound like the video and a stronger clutch that will grab hard to give you the sudden drop you're looking for.

that cam is too hot for me on the street, that would not be a good daily driver.

Re: Question about some 6 speed cars

oh come on....i drive my 233 cam in my DD.

even drove it through rush hour miami traffic.

only hard part was that it was on a stage 4 clutch...and a very light flywheel...so the clutch was a bit touchy. but the cam drove fine
:-D
