Question about Pacesetters
Question about Pacesetters
I know alot of you have these, but is everybody happy w/ them? Are the flanges ok on them, coating last, ect.... I have a co that w/ install anything I give them, but they are pushing me to Kooks or dynomax. I will spent more money IF needed, but I just want to know if you guys are happy w/ these.
Re: Question about Pacesetters
i just got my pace setters and they look great! coating is great i havn't installed them yet but i heard they are easy but the y-pipe is sometimes a problem, for the price you pay the headers are great!!!! save money and spend it some else.
Re: Question about Pacesetters
I have had them on for 4 months now. Loved them when I got them, went on extremely easy. Only problem I have is the coating. I have like 3,200 miles on them and the coating near the flange is basically all surface rust, and tapers off as you go up the header. Under the hood they still look great. Although the coating was a disappointment I would probably buy them anyway if I had to do things over again just because I can not afford a really good set of headers like Kooks or QTP.
Flange is really thick, welds look really good, fitment is great, price is even better.

Re: Question about Pacesetters
I've had them for about 15 months and drove the car through the snow and salt during the winter of 03-04. they're still nice and shiny up top. there's some slight surface rust on the bottom of the collectors but it comes right off with a piece of steel wool.
all and all, they still look great.

Re: Question about Pacesetters
I've had mine for almost a year and under the hood they still look like when I bought them, but down by the collectors there is slight surface rust, but I havent gotten around to cleaning it off, which Im sure wouldnt be hard. The coating is holding up nicely. If I had never driven my car in the rain they probably would still be like new on the bottem, too...
These were very easy to install, I dont know which side was easier because they both went right in....
The flange is super-thick, and using GM metal gaskets and stock bolts they have never leaked. I havent had to retighten them yet, which I am thankful for....plus plug changes are a breeze except for the #8 which requires changing from under the car(like before the headers) and the #4 plug is a little tough because of the AIR tube but I have it down now...heck the drivers side takes like 10-15 minutes to change the plugs if they are already gapped
If I had it to do over again, I would buy them again. I may take them off and have them Jet Hot coated one day but thats far far away....
You can see what they look like on and off the car on my cardomain site. Click on the link in my sig and go to pages 3-4(?) I think
Theres also a couple pics from under the car with them on, while the car is on a lift.

Re: Question about Pacesetters
I have not had one problem with these. Coating is still perfect after rain and snow, and not one single leak. I would definitely recommend these to anyone. Cant beat it for the price!
Re: Question about Pacesetters
Mine are great . No probs at all. The coating looks good too .SLight rust at the bottom but we have had alot of rain since they went on . Still look great under the hood .
