Question about LS1 Blancer/Crank Pulley.

My friend pulled the pulley on his LS1, not marking where it was, does it matter which way it goes on? I know they are balanced to them otor or is it just at TDC where the weights go? Since he didnt mark it, is it safe to guess and just put it back on? I didnt think it would cause much trouble just putting it back on. If there is a certain way to put it back on or a way to find out where it should be, please let me know. Thanks

think i found the answer I wanted.

(courtesy of ?????? didnt get the name)

I work at GM Powertrain at the plant that use to build
the LS1 (Romulus). It is now built in St. Catherines.

The orientation on the balancer isn't important to engine
balance. Only on Manual Corvettes, where the engine
is balanced after assembly. The Corvette has a tighter
balance speck than the F-Body.

Just be careful to put it on straight, the hub is aluminum
and will shave off if you press it on crocked.
