putting a 383 in a 98 firebird?

how easy/hard is this todo?? my friend has dropped in motors before but we want to know what we are getting into really before moving ahead with anything

It goes in the same as you take it out nothing changing except the cubes.

By the way wrong section, try regular LT1 tech.

You mean LS1 tech. I assume 3.905 borex4.0" stoke ?

i have no clue, it was a friends of a friends project.. my buddy was gonna get it but the car has no interior and my parents told me to wait for my new 98-02 LS1 powered car till later this year (see how my jobs doing) but the motor is sitting in the speed job totally rebuilt.. said it put out 400whp before rebuild and it has some better parts now was running 11's prior to.. guy is a college student selling and doesnt have the knowhow (or time/money I guess) todo the rest of the car..

Well that dosent tell me much if its a stock displacement motor nov you cant do it yourself and if you dont have expereince i really wouldent try your deffinatly goning to need to find a builder or machine shope to help you with block and bottom end work



now if its a just a motor its diffcult but it can be done and i say if you got uyuor freind to dhelp do it go for it
