Push rod questions/ and rocker questions
I have a 02' Ram Air m6 and going to install a G5x2 camshaft (232i/240e duration .595/ 608 lift at 112 lsa., with crane double springs #144832-16. Roller rockers are going to be yella terra but do not know if 1.8 or stock ratio (1.7).
I have heard that oem pushrods have a tendacy to bend. So what would be the best size /brand, length and then what about the roller rockers?
P.S. I tried to do a search but could not find detail info.

Re: Push rod questions/ and rocker questions
stock rockers are 1.7ratio....and most high lift cams CANNOT run 1.8 rockers
any chromoly pushrod by comp or crane, or any well known valvetrain company will do just fine. i think 7.4 is stock lenght...could be wrong

Re: Push rod questions/ and rocker questions
yeah, definitely don't go with 1.8 or 1.85 ratio rockers, you're asking for big time problems going that route. stock ratio 1.7 should be just fine. ALL pushrods bend if you're rough on them. Chromoly pushrods are a good alternative, stronger than oem, but a little more costly. 7.4 is the stock length.
Re: Push rod questions/ and rocker questions
Thats a huge cam for stock heads! I have a 224/228 with a 581/589 lift on a 112lsa. This Comp cam made 50 rwhp and around 40rwtq! Now i'm not trying to be a ***, but I have a friend who does custom tunning and has done many cam combo's and bigger isn't always better. for the street my cam is moderate to low high. So I wouldn't go over 230 duration or 580lift with out heads. And 113-114 Lsa will make driving much better. If you aren't getting tunning you will want a 116 LSA and you should be fine driving, again my .2cents
Re: Push rod questions/ and rocker questions
This is just a thought
ive heard and agree with
sometimes its not a bad idea to go with softer pushrods then when something breaks/bends its a 5$ pushrod and an hour labor to change rather than a 400$ cam and day and a half to change
make sure they are adequate but also keep them as the weakest link
just something to consider
