pulling engine and trans from under car in a garage...need help

ok, i am doing a v6 to v8 swap. I am starting on monday in my brothers garage. Has anyone done this in a home garage? What should my approach be to get the trans and engine out? I have done this but it was with a car lift, so i know what i need to unbolt and what i need to do, but i dont know what my approach should be in getting the car high enough to get the engine and trans out. Where should i lift it, how, with what, where should i pull the motor out from, the front im assuming... im looking for someone who HAS done this and can tell me what they did exactly. Thanks for your time and help.

put it up on ramps. pull the tranny out. take all the accessories off and remove the radiator and hood. you should be able to pull the motor from up top with some maneuvering. i've seen it done.

domestic violence, i apprecaite the reply, but as i stated, i want to take the engine and trans out together and do it from the bottom of the car, so that i dont have to disconnect them both and do it that way. That is my last resort, i really dont want to go that avenue, takes WAY longer and is not anywhere near as easy.

I need advice on taking the engine and trans out the bottom of the car with the use equipment that everyone owns or that i can rent if i dont have it...

ok from what i have heard and seen taking out the top is not as hard as it seems some people even think it is easyer. because you do not have to disconect the power stearing and brake lines and I'v heard it just pretty much just tilts out the top no problem. Then you would still need to have an engine hoist to get it off the K member if you took it out the bottom.

but if you wear to do it your way first discounect all brackets, hoses ( brakes, stearing, AC) then discounect tans form body. anfter that you would have to remove upper A arm bolts witch is not easy, then unbolt K member from the body, im not sure you would have to go by what you see but maby also the radiator and fans to make some room. Then get a few strong guys to lift the front of the car and wheel out your motor, considering you can egt the wheels back on the hubs at this point.

Then do the swap and reverse the steps. but i would try not to put anything in except the motor it will probly be easyer to do it with out the heads on even, so that you can get to all the bolts that you would need to to fasten it down.

I'v seen step by steps and I'v read a few and that is the best explanation i can give you without going on for pages.
