Programmer?

The local shop charges $450-$550 for tuning. I am installing tr224 cam, Hooker Lts, and z06 intake. I want to do the installs myself. My question is would it be better to order the Diablo or ls1edit or pay for the tuning by the pros. I have some computer skills but they are mostly network related. I have two questions 1> I dont have instructions for the hooker header install, Z06 intake install or the cam install...any ideas where I can get some.
2> I have the cam and springs. Will I have to change the rod or can I use the stock ones. I am told to change the timing belt so I will order one tomorrow.
3> I looked at the intake and it does not look too hard at all. It looks like an hr install. The headers hardly look like they will fit but we know better. The cam I may not do (that looks like too much of a job) if I had step by step instructions I would go for it. I have been to Installuniversity.com and I cant find what I am looking for.
Thanks,
