Probs w/ y-pipe connecting to 3" exhaust>>
Seems like everyone here is throwing on some good 3" exhaust systems on our f-bods with the stock y-pipe. I have 2002 WS6 where I am having some problems and concerns about the y-pipe.
I have the 3" B&B exhaust and it does not fit to the y-pipe. The od of the B&B is 3" where the od of the y-pipe is ~2.75" whichs makes it almost impossible to connect these two pipes together without welding.
Has anyone ran into this problem? What have you all done? Would this not be very restrictive?
My local exhaust shop said they could make a pipe that wold bevel down to a 2.75" pipe, but I don't want to do that if this y-pipe is going to be restrictive.
What has everyone done and experienced??

When i still ran that style setup i did this..
Took the y-pipe off the car.. and welded a 3" piece of pipe over the end of the y-pipe it fits perfect where the 2 pipes go into one.
then the catback fit nice and i didnt have to weld the catback on.
