problem with dual cutouts

i want to put manual cutouts right behind my headers, NOT 1 on the I pipe.

but how? with all the bends in the y pipe... there appears to be no place to replace y pipe tubing with a 12 in. straight pipe, which the cutouts im looking at incorporate

what to do??

Re: problem with dual cutouts

put them back a little farther, right after the pipes bend to join at the I-pipe

Doesn't say in your sig if you have cats or not.

I'd say, if you don't have cats, chop the Y right after the collector.. Put em in there...

I'm putting mine in place of the cats... (when I get the $$ atleast)

i don't mean in the I-pipe....i mean about 1ft ahead of the merge on the ypipe...right after each side angles in to join

Re: problem with dual cutouts

if you have headers, why dont you get a QTP dual cutout y-pipe? heck, I have one for sale if you want one... its perfect for adding dual electric cutouts.

i'd consider it as long as it is:

A. 3"
B. aluminum
C. is compatible with my headers, my catback, and my brace and d-shaft loop which i had to modify extensively to make my pacesetter y-pipe fit
D. comes with two MANUAL cutouts already welded togethor

teke: thats EXACTLY the problem... the y-pipe is not straight for a great enough distance on both sides to put a 12" straight pipe in the middle of it ANYWHERE

So why don't you drill a 3in. hole in your existing pipe and weld on an angled extension with a 3-bolt flange on the end. Problem solved.

Re: problem with dual cutouts

Can you shorten the cutouts them selves??

Running out of ideas... Can you get a pic of theY pipe so we can maybe combine efforts?
