Ditto, I cut about 1.25" off my threads and it's plenty short now. Sometimes I almost wonder if it's too short.

unless they changed the design, there ever should be a notch in the middle of the threads to lop off about an inch... its real easy to do.. can even do it with a hacksaw.

www.afterthoughtsauto.com

You probably can locate it elsewhere, but I did a search, and I've ordered from Afterthoughtsauto before, and they're good.

One of my best mods, the PRO 5.O w/ the short stick

So did I. Dropped it off at a machine shop and they cut off the excess thread.

Get the Qwik Stick. Here's a link from one of the sponsors of this board.

Re: pro 5.0 shifter too tall....

just cut it with a hacksaw it cuts real fast, but put a nut on it first below the cut, this will rethread the cut. otherwise you can't screw on the shifter ****. I bought one from the hardware store for 0 cents, then screwed it on all the wway and measured on inch down, and cut then unscrewed the nut and installed the shifter. Its very easy, and its perfect I wouldn't want it any shorter or taller, its just right. Getting the short stick is better suited for some other shifter that doesn't have access threads to remove.

I've got the Qwik Stick also. For the money, it's one of the best mods I've done.
