Pro 5.0 shifter
Pro 5.0 shifter
I've only heard good things about this product, so I have a few questions:
Best place to purchase?
How easy to install? (would definately consider myself an extreme novice)
Would I be able to put the Hurst "shift ****" onto the Pro 5.0? I saw they had a few different ***** for sale at their site, including a leather **** very similair in design to the Hurst. I'm used to the feel of the Hurst, so can I replace the **** with the Hurst?
Is the throw of the Pro 5.0 any shorter than the Hurst?
That's about all, thanks for any help.
By the way, if anyone has any praise stories, it may help convince me

i dunno about the rest of your questions, except im assuming the hurst **** MAY fit. dunno. but if you're considering doing it yourself....http://www.projecttransam.com/projects15.asp - that will help.
Get the Pro 5.0. I installed mine last week. Pretty easy install. Its shorter than the Hurst and its a ton more smoother. I felt like I was breaking thru a wall to get mine in gear. With the 5.0 it glides right in. You can also check out installuniversity.com for install tips.
I'm going with the Pro 5.0 in the very near future. AfterThoughts sells the Pro 5.0 with Lou's Short Stick for a good price so that's probably where I will buy from. And yes, the Factory Hurst **** fits on the Pro 5.0

It comes with complete instructions, so follow them to the "t".
I had the Ripper first, and then I went with the Pro 5.0/ Lou's short stick setup. It was like night and day. It is an amazing shifter and you will not be disappointed.
All of the ***** have the same thread as the shifters for our cars, so they are all interchangeable..

I have the Pro 5.0 WITH the factory Hurst ****, so I can assure you that it will fit. No need to get a "short stick" when you can cut almost 2 inches of thread off of the 5.0 stick. DO NOT cut the shift boot when you install, just stretch it. The install is easy and don't pull the e-brake up too high, or it is a apin to get back down.
I just installed the Pro 5.0/Lou's from Afterthoughts Auto and it is great. The install is fairly easy, just somewhat timeconsuming if you've never taken apart your console before. Definitely worth the money. Customer Service at Afterthoughts was pretty good too, it took them a week to ship it due to the Lou's being on back order, but they were in constant contact with me. I say go for it.
