Yes, the T56 has internal stops. Those stops are on the Pro 5.0 because the shifter was originally designed for Mustangs that -don't- have stops. The stops aren't needed for LS1s, so people generally just set them all the way out.

I thank all of you for the information you have provided. I think I'm going to go ahead and get the ripper though. So come payday, I shall be ordering it. Anything I need to know about when doing the swap??

Installing a new shifter is pretty easy to do. For complete instructions, go here:

Click on "Install Documents", and then scroll down to the "Transmission" listing. You'll find a step-by-step procedure there.

Just remember to use the thread locker. You will be upset with yourself down the road when you have to tear everything apart to tighten bolts again if you dont.
