The average car like that near me would go for $15k-$16k.

i punched up my 99z, 6spd, leather, ttops, 52k miles in to kelly blue book for private party sales and it was just under $12k

so would say $10-14k is a good range

Suggestion numer one is do not get a Z28 or SS only because you have stated that you really want a WS6 black with M6. If you get a Z28 you'll likely regret it a few months down the line since it appears you like the looks of the TA better. Look long and hard but you have a tall order to fill.

Getting a M6 is hard enough but adding a specific color and WS6 is gonna be hard to find. But not impossible so give it a go. Painting a car is 2-3K for a real professional job from what I understand so make sure you get a black one. M6's are not as abundant as A4's because they produced more A4's then M6's for some ungodly reason. Tranny swap is at least 2K so again find a M6.

WS6 is maybe where you can bend a little. If you find a nice TA or Formula that's black with a M6 then grab it. You can buy an aftermarket WS6 hood for $485 at a place in Addison, Illinois. PM me if you ever need the name and number. Then for about $250 or so you can get it painted black to match the car.You can even buy the raised airbox to make the hood functional for $99. You'd then have your black TA/Formula with M6 and the aggressive WS6 look for less then 1K in aftermarket parts.

Good Luck and don't settle. Get what you want or you may have regrets.

I just bought a 98 SS from a dealer for $13,900. White leather, loaded, brand new tires, Crome ZR1's, A4 with 32k miles along with all the maintance records and orignal paper work including window sticker...Kinda cool. While this price isn't bad for the car You can probably dig one up from a private seller and avoid the commission cost. It's hard to find well maintained SS's in my area so I jumped on the deal. You can buy these cars all day long on Ebay if your willing to travel to get the car which can cost time and cash? Be patient, buy what you want cause you will be stuck with it for awhile or lose your a** trying to sell it right away.

In Michigan:

Black 1999 T/A

Looks really good in the pic and the price isn't bad IMO...dunno if it's an M6 or A4 though. Give 'em a call.

Found a couple other black T/As in the South Bend area but they were both over 17k (both were 2000's)

Well i bought my 99 SS with leather 6 speed t-tops and 48,xxx miles on it, off of ebay for $13,300, and had it shipped up from Atlanta georgia for 500 bucks to my driveway. Not to bad at all IMO i knew what it looked like inside an out cuz he sent me vids over the net of it inside an out before i bought.

I paid 10.5k for my 98 SS in February. Red, 6 speed, tops, charcoal leather, 47k mi, stock. It did seem to me that WS6's were more expensive than SS's. I guess the more agressive look sells better. I prefer the more subtle look of the SS, so it worked in my favor.

But if I had found a WS6 for a good price, I would have had no problem hopping on it. But it sounds as if you really want a black WS6 M6. Keep looking.
