I might be crazy, but it seems like my car was alot faster before I instaled Hyper tech tuning and got rid off the muffler and ran a straight pipe. Any ideas?

yeah...hypercrap sucks...

you'd be about the 500th person to realize that!

only use is for gear swaps, fan settings, tranny settings and rev limits

I've heard mixed reviews of the Hypertech. I have it installed on my car, and I do believe it makes a slight improvement in power. I don't believe it adds ~20 rwhp or anything like that, but I can honestly say that I feel like the throttle response is much quicker and more "crisp", and off the line the car feels like it pulls just a little bit harder. I haven't dyno'd my car to see what it's putting down, but I think it would probably show a small gain with the HPP3 plugged in.

HOWEVER, I realize there are better tuning programmers out there (ie: LS1 Edit) but when I bought my Hypertech, it was to calibrate for a gear change, and the "power tuning" option was just an added bonus.

After putting on my cutouts it seemed like it was a little slower. My theory on this is the exhaust was so much louder that it seemed like it was working much harder at part throttle. However after getting used to it it does seem to pull much harder.

I dont really know if what I said makes any sense but thats just how I look at it.
