Yes is the power steering pump fluid connected to the Tranny oil?Or is this to types of fluids diffrent.I think my pump went out. Why?Well ran the car I smelled a burnt clutch smell.Looked in the pump the oil was smelling awfull and not looking red anymore.Brown red.Tranny was also slipping oil looked to thin to.I think this texas heat is killing my car.My pump whines when car is hot now.Sure sucks....Thinking I should change the fluids out.

Change your fluids. The transmission and power steering are not connected, and require two different fluids.

Maybe time to try some Red Line synthetics? And a PS cooler by Permacool.

I have used the Red Line PS fluid for a while no probs. And I at times get my power steering under some extreme conditions.
I switched after frying my first PS pump, and all is good now w/ the cooler and Red Line Syn.
You dont really need to put the Red Line in your tranny, just some fresh Dex will do. But the Red Line synthetics for the tranny are pretty darn good too....heck they all are.

I got it in the tranny, diff,PS and will try the motor one day soon also.
