Power Programmer question (slowin me down??)
I took the 99 to the track last night for the first time. Im pretty pleased with the times...but ....I know it would do wayyy better if my 2nd to 3rd shifts would tighten up a little. The car is mostly stock with the exception of FIPK,flowmaster and HPP3. It seems the 2nd to 3rd gear shift takes all night....feels like grandmas Buick. I would have loved to have played with the HPP3 but in the process of moving I somehow misplaced it and I fear its gone for good.....so now its stuck with the program I started with.
My questions as follows
1. Is there only one way around deprogramming a HPP programmed car? As in using the original programmer?
2. Would the HPP help with 2nd to 3rd shifts if programmed right?
3. Any other suggestions anyone might have on racing an A4 (seems faster when I ease on the throttle but havent proven that at the track cuz I cant keep my foot out of it)

My car already had the HPP change the timing before I got it. When I bought the car it didn't come with he HPP. The problem I had was that anytime it was over 80 degrees out I would get alot of spark knock while running 93 octane. As the night gets cooler I would run faster, .5-.7sec faster. But rather than going out and buying a HPP I went to a shop with LS1 edit and had it changed(with other stuff HPP does) for $90.
Nice 60ft for 18's too. Best I can manage is a 2.09 with BFG KDSW's on stock 16" wheels. But I'm also 1.5" lower(reloc brackets still in garage) with 4.10 gears in my M6.

well alot of cars do not like the power program and it will cost you power and track times if you added that part of the program
you need to find the original unit to make changes or buy a new one i think
or you could go to the dealer and reflash the pcm back to stock
or go to a shop that has ls1 edit and get it tuned

Thanks guys..hopefully I can manage to find the HPP......Id love to mess with it to see if thats the problem. Another thing...the car seems to run alot hotter than my 93 did.(around 200)..I havent added a different stat yet ..what does everyone recommend for tstat temp for LS1? 160?
