Is this possible?

An LS1 with a 3200 stall and catback exhaust with slicks running a 12.70? Thats all that is done to it. Is this at all possible it sounds like to me. But I just figured i'd ask you LS1 guys before I said anything. Thanks.

Well I had:
Loudmouth
Lid
Yank ST3500 TC
Free mods
And an SSRA
When I ran 12.15 @ 110.8
So a 12.70 is pretty weak.

Re: Is this possible?

what year car? that's gonna make some difference too. it will be easier to run those numbers on a 2001-2002 car with the ls6 intake and better exhaust, etc.

My heavy convertible ran 12.89 with the mods in my sig. And it's a 99 with the stock ls1 intake, etc. I don't think it's unreasonable at all to run a 12.70.

(BTW, I think Al's secretly running methanol in his gas tank)

Re: Is this possible?

Totally possible. There is a guy on LS1tech with 3.73's a 4500 stall, and 309 rwhp running 11's on slicks.

Re: Is this possible?

My dad's full weight 2000 A4 convertible ran 13.1 with only a lid.

Put a converter, exhaust, and some slicks on that car, and it'll easily do 12.70

So yes, its entirely possible.

Re: Is this possible?

As said, it's easily possible...not saying that every LS1 F-body with those mods would run easy 12s...but plenty of them could.

A high stall and sticky tires will do wonders for autos.

Ran 12.52 with essentially the same set up ...only difference a cut out and a FIPK ... full weight.

Re: Is this possible?

It's a 98, so no LS6 intake or anything else ...completly stock besides stall converter and SLP quad exhaust, no weight reduction or anything. This is in IL too. Union Grove raceway.

Re: Is this possible?

a stalled auto LS1 is NO JOKE. even with everything else stock, they will run hard.

check sig....12.teens @ 110-111 all day on drag radials with litte more than a full exhaust, a lid, converter, and gears. and that was on the old converter. i'm hoping for an 11 second motor pass this fall before i crack open the blue bottle.

on stock tires, you could run in the 12s if the track is prepped ok. on slicks you should definitely go around 12.70-12.80.

Re: Is this possible?

I think its totally possible.. I have seen straight off the showroom floor 2002 with paper plates and a set of giant slicks get a 12.5..
