what are the advantages of porting and polishing ur throttle body?

I've seen 7-10 rwhp increase on stock to bolt on cars! Definately a worthwhile mod!

how much is it? what does it do? does it put more wear and tear on the car? it is a considered to be a minor mod?

I also have a question. When people talk about cams they always talk about drilling the TB? What does this mean?

This is performed to get more airflow through at idle - it brings the rpms up so the car won't stall (with will happen with a more aggressive cam).

I ported my TB myself. It can be done on a metal lathe or with a dremel tool if you're patient.

I can't say I've really seen more than a couple of hp from a stock car in all the people I've talked to. H/C or FI cars may see up to maybe 8-10 rwhp though. It essentially widens the TB from 75mm to 80 mm. The gain isn't much on a stock car.

I don't recommed buying an aftermarket BBK unit - way too many problems with them. If you can't do it yourself, order a swap through MMS or MTI or something.
