Thumbs down Please help, CAI, pain in the butt!

I ripped off the top of the air deflector panel as I tried to pull it out and now it doesn't look right after dremeling the hole. I just decided to leave it out...... will this present a problem?

I dremeled out the "bridge" also when cutting the bottom air box.... the filter lays down without problems.

My air box has a filter tray...... I don't remember if it came with my stock SLP lid or not. Is the filter tray important to put back it with the CAI mod? (I've got the better "Blackwing lid). Without the filter tray, the fliter does move a bit from side to side......is this okay???? If I use the filter tray I will dremel out that bridge inside too.

When cutting the bottom air box, instructions say leave a lip of 3/4 on sides and 5/8 in back..... this is for the foam seals you tape down....and with these seals it raises the back filter a bit and not in the front....... why even use the foam seals?

Sorry, but I am not a mechanic! Any feedback is appreciated!

You use the foam seals to seal the air box so so air goes through the filter and not around. Its gotta be snugg and tight when you clamp the box down or else you will suck unfiltered dirty air into your engine.
