Please answer some questions from over the pond
100 lb-ft
I had the same problem, replaced the front pads with Hawk HPS and the front rotors with KVR blanks. Used a tq wrench on the lugnuts too... 40,000 miles later, they are still working beautifully. I really like how the HPS feels for the street.
Installuniversity.com has excellent directions on how to do the brakes... I personally thought it was easier to compress the pistons back in the caliper with the caliper still attatched the the bracket and rotor though.
Some people say you should open the bleeder valve when you push back the pistons to avoid pushing brake fluid back into the abs system........ i dunno...
Wether it was stock rotors actually warping, improper lug nut tightning, pad material unevenly coating the rotor, joyriding by the dealership(that i'll never goto again), I'll never know for sure.. but since the problem is solved, I really don't care..

Thanks for all your replies they are very helpful.
CENTRIC, Nice to see you have been to the UK. I live just outside of Chatham in Kent, the roads aren’t too much of a problem it is the stupid little parking spaces that drive me nuts.
We only have a dozen Chevy dealers in the UK so Camaros are a bit of an unknown car, which is great for me because snobs in Porsches, BMWs and Mercs don’t know that an American car that costs less than half the price is about to blow them away.
KEN S, I followed your link to Installuniversity.com which showed how easy it is to change the rotors and pads, I then followed their link to thunderracing.com where I found that I can buy a Thunder Racing Complete LS1 Braking Package for $590, I just need to find out if they can ship to the UK.
While I was there I could not help looking at some other parts that I can get for my Z28. The Whisper LS1 Induction Lid + filter seems a cheap and easy way to gain an extra 20HP
