PCMforless or Dyno Tuning
PCMforless or Dyno Tuning
Hey guys I am just wondering which is better should I go with PCMforless or a local Dyno Tune? I have heard nothing but good things about PCMforless. The one reason I want a tune right now is because I have had a Z06 MAF for about 2 years and I am ready to use it thanks for any advice.

Re: PCMforless or Dyno Tuning
i don't think you have the mods to warrent a full dyno tune.
i suppose if it was as cheap as the mail order it wouldnt be so bad. but they are usually a good amount of $$ more.
i say go for pcmforless or madz28.com

Re: PCMforless or Dyno Tuning
As far as PCMforless or actual dyno tune, I'm not sure what to tell you.
I can tell you that for just a new MAF, you may want to just sell the MAF. I notice in your sig that you have an ORY? Do you have headers as well? If you have the mods to go with it (headers, exhaust, lid, LS6 intake, etc.) then put the MAF on and get it tuned if you haven't. One of my friends with a larger MAF on his '01 Z28 actually lost power from it until he got his long tube headers and a full dyno tune. He had a lid, the SLP y-pipe, and Loudmouth exhuast, but with the stock manifolds and cats, he actually gained a couple HP from putting his stock MAF back on. They had a dyno day at a local place down here in Orlando and his air/fuel was way too rich, he happened to have his stock MAF with him, threw it back on, and bingo! his car ran better. Dyno tune just for a MAF? There's better ways to spend that $$ for increased power. Just my thoughts.

Re: PCMforless or Dyno Tuning
bryan herder (pcmforless) does do an actual dyno tune also. he is good with lsx engines. many locals and local shops use him. jd's, axceleratedmotorsports.com, and other non sponsers. since he uses non-sponser dyno's is why you dont really hear of his dyno tune work. post this question in northeast forum for a better response.
agree on mail order at this point, maybe get the tune after a few more mods unless you have to.

Re: PCMforless or Dyno Tuning
There is no way that one of his half assed mail order tunes can compete with a tune by a person that is there in person to adjust your A/F ratio there on the dyno. If you think anything different, you need to bill him for advertising
