Do LS1's benefit from a computer tune as much as the LT1's do? My old car wasn't modded very much and the tune seemed to help. I guess you were supposed to get about 10whp from a tune on just a stock LT1 from Madwolf.

I also read that 98's have a different PCM than the 99+ and the stock tune isn't quite as good. I'm just wondering if a tune would be a worthwhile mod now or just wait thill I get LT's and LS6 intake......

Or should I look into LS1 edit or HPtuners?

ls1 edit is good, but i would send madwolf a pm if you havent already. obviously you will gain more with a tune with more mods in addition. dont think i would pay for a tune without something like a cam or h/c combo etc. but thats just me.

 

yeah that's what I was thinking, but it just seemed like everyone with a LT1 would get there computer tuned no matter what the mods. I guess the LS1 pcm is better.

I have bolt on mods and stock heads and cam. I got mine tuned and noticed a big difference.
